A phenomenal conclusion to the 2020 season with half of our teams snaring titles of which two were ladies teams. 21 leagues were contested which across 26 Auckland clubs equates to less than 1 pennant per club. To pick up 3 reflects impressively on the captains and players involved. Well done everyone!

Pennant presentation & social this Thurs 7pm / Interclub winners

Club social/ Pennant presentation - this Thursday from 7pm. Plan is to combine the social with a Winter 1 & 2 pennant presentation and Round robin league with playing priority given to the pennant winners. Squash from 7pm and we'll split players into even groups across the 4 courts. Social from 8.30pm which will feature feijoa crumble and mulled wine/ bubbles on the club. Interclub finals. 4 of our 7 teams have made the top two pennant play-offs with all our teams in the top half of the table. Only downside is that just Mens 1 finished top and get to play at home. Here are the teams in finals action this week;

Novice mens league. Certain new members ave been approached offering the opportunity to start a round robin league in October. No cost to enroll, just want players to commit to playing 3 or 4 games in the month. RSVP to enroll.

Busy club nights/ interclub results

Rewarding to witness 17 players at our two club nights last week with the women once again outnumbering the guys.This turn-out would be the envy of most other clubs. Of two i can think of, Belmont have given up on theirs and Devonport disbanded it since the second lock-down. Do choose to come along as the variety of faces makes these nights the more successful.

A reasonably busy week just gone with 9 at ladies night but just 3 for the Thursday club night. We're fortunate that the 10 person restriction does not preclude full use of the resources and, with the exception of interclub, we're now bordering on business as usual.
