Court 2 renovations are running a little late as can be seen from the photograph below taken yesterday evening. The good news is the delivery of the final tranche of LED fittings which Thorn otherwise were not expecting in the country until Aug 28th. Once court 2 lights are installed light measures will be taken and we will reduce the number of fittings in the end courts where light reflecting from the side wall is creating very high light intensity.

Exciting times for our club as we build towards 3, maybe 4 team entries, in the annual Superchamps competition which provides a focal point for many club players. The developing strength, particularly in our female ranks, means this competition could not come at a better time for us.

June 3rd from 6.30pm. Recent pennant success (2 mens & 2 womens teams) provides reason to bring folk together from around the club for a night of squash action & celebration. We'll take the opportunity to provide a Superchamps briefing to prospective players. Additionally, I'm planning to bring some Dunlop equipment and offer demos & giveaways to participants. Here's the broad plan;

Club shirt order this week/ Court 4 renovation complete/ Tournament results & more!

COURT 4 NEARING COMPLETION : Mike, our sparky, has worked over the weekend to install lighting which as I write should be complete. This first court has taken 16 days, way above the envisaged 8 days, but the builder assures me that this was the test court and they will achieve efficiencies with the other three. Whether this brings it down to 3 days remains to be seen but I am more concerned with the outcome and the first court looks resplendent.

Don’t miss out on a club shirt!/ Junior coaching groups/ Top of the refs rankings & i’club news

By the end of this week we should have the shirt order ready to go and currently are missing about 8 sizes and 26 names. Can you please take a look at the list below and advise missing details within 48 hours if this applies to you. Note that only graded players have been included but if you would like a shirt please advise, cost $30-$35. The club is especially keen for Superchamps players (C grade men, all grades women) to have a club shirt.

Club Shirts/ singlets For some time we have been trying to get sizing's for personalised club shirts or singlets with our sponsors subsidising the cost down to about $30. The shirts will really create a clear identity for our players in both interclub and Superchamps and it would be great if you could try on a shirt at the club this week ahead of us placing the order (see design below).

Club Renovations Great news this week that the Lion Foundation have awarded us $9,200 to cover the cost of our new LED lighting to follow the council meeting the cost of the new ceilings and lighting throughout the rest of the complex. This is a substantial cost saving for the club and the committee are now contemplating redirecting some of the funds to a club room renovation.
