Superchamps review/ interclub back this week/ Refs cert/ AGM this month

A massive week in the club calendar with 3 Superchamps squads in action over 6 days. Mens F/J found it tough as the bottom seeded of 5 teams but they pulled off a win to end 4th in the table. Womens D lost all three but Daniella pulled off a come from behind win and Misty added 2 more scalps for a 20 match winning streak.

Two courts will be given over to F/J Mens Superchamps each night this week from Weds-Fri and the same on Sat/ Sun afternoons from 1-4pm. We have 3 squads playing in this annual competition seeking to find the best Auckland club team within each grade by gender. Winning teams will represent Auckland at nationals and we have proudly won 2 team titles in recent years. Further details appear below.

Lots of competitive action this coming week with senior interclub re-commencing on Monday. Not helping our case is that Janine was injured in Masters last week putting her out of action for the time being, commiserations to her. We do need additional over 40yo Masters squad members in addition to Ray Beecham who has offered to step in with myself as a reluctant wild card. Might anyone else be keen? Played Weds from 7pm for the next 5 weeks and we're sitting a handy 3rd on the table

Sporadically I host a reffing session to run through the rules and debate rules interpretations. This session should appeal to two groups 1: New members needing to understand the rules both for match play & safety, and, 2: Experienced players seeking a refresher perhaps to re-sit the club refs exam.

Winter 2 interclub squads/ Club tournament wrap/ Ladies pennant success/ Club refs exam

We are now assembling squads for the next interclub round which commences on Monday 16th July and runs for 9 weeks. Matches between 4 strong teams commence at 7pm on Monday for the lower teams and are played alternately home and away with the home club providing food. An enrolment fee of $30 covers entry fees and balls. Below is a list of provisional squads and response from existing and prospective player would be appreciated.
